Graduating in Medical Biotechnology from the University of Siena, Italy, Antonino followed up on his research experience with a one-year stint in the Netherlands. After this, he moved to Uppsala University in Sweden, to focus on research and development of new immunotherapeutic drugs for the treatment of cancer and neurodegenerative disorders. A similar scope, but new stimuli drove him to pursue research in Vienna, at the Austrian Centre of Industrial Biotechnology, where he is currently doing a Ph.D. With an equally strong passion for football, cycling and reading, along with life sciences, he has set himself an important goal by launching this editorial project: to pique people's interest in science and to provide them with access to read experimentally proven, laboratory-derived and scientifically accurate research matters. Sciencerely.it is pure, unfiltered and sincere science within everyone's reach.
Following his graduation in Medical Biotechnology from the University of Milano-Bicocca, Italy, Giuseppe successively qualified as a biologist. After specialising in Pharmaceutical Management, he currently works as a Microbiology resident in the Microbiology & Virology Unit at the A.O.U Mater Domini of Catanzaro in Italy. After the laboratory, his second home is the band rehearsal room, where he thrives as a drummer and an avid music lover. After experiencing the pros and cons of the webzine, he decided to get involved in this scientific editorial project because he believes in the importance of disseminating correct and accurate information, while simultaneously combating misinformation.
Chiara graduated in Natural Science and Ecology & Conservation of Nature from the University of Parma, Italy. Following her vocation, she completed a Master of Research (MRes) degree in Sustainable Agricultural Technology from Harper Adams University in the United Kingdom and later qualified as a biologist in Italy. After working as a research assistant in the UK, she joined the European Food Safety Authority's (EFSA) Plant Health Team, where she mostly dealt with high-risk plants and quarantined plant pest surveillance. To further her knowledge about the different facets of plant health, she chose to pursue a doctoral degree and is currently enrolled as a Ph.D. fellow at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Piacenza in Italy. She is passionate about soil ecology, entomology, music, and hiking, and has enthusiastically accepted to join the ScienceRely team, fully comprehending and sharing the same ideals of communicating science authentically.
Majoring in Biotechnology from Amrita University in Kerala, India, Ivy is the newest addition to this growing initiative. To increase her scientific and worldly exposure, she followed her calling to pursue a Research Master’s in Chemical & Bioprocess Engineering from University College Dublin, Ireland. Eager to take her career to the next level, she moved to Vienna, Austria, where she is currently pursuing her doctoral degree in Biotechnology. If she isn’t working in the lab, you can find her either buried in fantasy and fiction books or organising her shelves and drawers. She ardently believes that by delving into the roots of science, we not only expand the understanding of our own existence, but also pave the way for the progression of humankind. Hence, she jumped at the opportunity to be a part of a fresh young multidisciplinary scientific platform, aimed at relaying accurate information along with tackling the fact vs fiction conundrum.
After earning his Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Reggio Calabria, Italy, Filippo continued his studies in the city and specialised in graphic design. Alongside this, he is also a freelance graphic designer and photographer and has ample experience in planning events and art exhibitions. He also has extensive experience working with brand identity, visual identity, and social media management. Born with a natural penchant for art in all its forms, he studies singing and composes music, but does not neglect his other equally important passions of volunteering and sports. Armed with a unique combination of capabilities and a desire to widen his horizons even further, he immediately understood the immense value of this project and devoted his expertise and technical abilities to it.
Always available for the IT support of friends and family, he converted his passion into a full-time job. Born in Reggio Calabria, Italy, he moved to Milan to follow his dream of innovating and making technology accessible to everyone in a simple and effective way. This great passion for computer science, technology and cybersecurity allowed him to kick-start his career in Milan. Much like a stereotypical "Tech Guy", he loves any machine with an engine and does not practice any sport. As soon as the opportunity arose to build a science & technology information platform, he wholeheartedly joined forces with the team and jumped in to be the technical arm of the ScienceRely.it project.
Domenico graduated from the Magna Graecia University of Catanzaro, Italy, in Medicine and Surgery, along with a professional qualification obtained from the University of Pavia in Italy, where he specialised in Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases. He works at the IRCCS Maugeri of Pavia, where he regularly carries out endocrinological outpatient examinations, predominantly related to thyroid and metabolic diseases, such as diabetes mellitus and obesity. Here, he has also promptly accepted the call to fight on the frontline for the treatment of COVID-19 patients. He loves to practice sports at a non-competitive level because he believes that the love for sports, much like the love for science, is a shared experience and does not require any competition, it simply makes you feel good about yourself!
